When we say “Leave the planning and driving to us,” we mean it! Our staff and volunteers carefully curate a variety of day trips—ranging from arts and cultural events to sports games, scenic hikes, food tours, nature walks, seasonal festivals, and more.

Some trips are easy, some involve more strenuous activity. Be sure to check the activity level before purchasing your ticket. Click here to see our Activity Levels.

Travel in comfort aboard our 24-passenger van, where the journey is just as fun as the destination. The smaller group size makes it easier to connect with fellow travelers and share the adventure.

Our Trips & Tours office is located on the first floor of the Olympia Senior Center. All trips are open to both members and the general public—plus, members enjoy special discounts!

Finnriver Cider Tasting and Farm Tour

Join us as we head out to the rolling hills and farmlands of the Chimicum Valley. To start our afternoon off right, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at the beautiful Finnriver Cider Garden. After lunch, our knowledgeable Finnriver tour guide will lead us on a stroll through Finnriver’s organic fields and orchard. The 1/2 mile loop around the orchard and cider barns is interwoven with stories of farm history and cider making. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to taste and savor several farmcrafted ciders and fruit wines.

Picnic lunch is provided. Beverages will be available for purchase at the Cider Garden.

Tacoma Rainiers Baseball

Join us for a day of baseball, stadium food, sunshine and good times. Fast-paced but a little more relaxed than the major league games, the minors are a blast for baseball fans of all ages. Join us to see our home team, the Rainiers, a Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, take on the El Paso Chihuahuas at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.

We’ve got great seats, so bring a friend and make a day of it. Our tickets include a special BBQ buffet.

Fall Foliage Frolic

Enjoy the fall foliage on this exploration of two local gardens known for their autumn colors. First, we visit Soos Creek Botanical Garden, where trails, ponds, and changing autumn colors create a serene setting for exploration. Next, we’ll visit the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden and Pacific Bonsai Museum, offering a stunning display of autumn foliage and peaceful woodland trails . Along the way, we will enjoy a relaxed lunch together.

Set Sail on the Seattle Tall Ship

Experience Seattle from a whole new perspective aboard the Bay Lady, an 85 ft schooner that was custom-built for charter sailing. On this cruise departing from Pier 62 on the iconic Seattle waterfront, we’ll sail through the scenic waters of Elliott Bay. Be sure to keep an eye out for local marine wildlife, including harbor seals, seabirds, and perhaps even an orca whale. After our sail, we’ll hop back on the bus, stopping on the way home for a late lunch.

Come along on this private tour that dives into the intriguing history of Port Townsend’s early years. Guided by knowledgeable docents from the Jefferson County Historical Society, this walking tour draws from some of the more infamous, mysterious and salacious accounts of the past. You’ll have free time in the picturesque downtown of Port Townsend to shop the unique stores and funky boutiques after the tour. You’ll have lots of time to browse the shopping center at your own pace and have a delicious lunch at the IKEA Swedish cafe.
