Resources FOR SENIORS

Resource Programs for Seniors

Senior Services partners with community members and agencies to provide a variety of resources for a better life.

An Overview of Resources Programs

Do you need help navigating the services we offer, and just want to talk to someone on the phone? Our Resources Advocates are available to assist you 5 days a week, and can help you learn more about programs both within the Senior Services and the wider community. They have connections to a wide range of resources such as health care, housing, and legal services.

Are you looking for affordable housing or assistance in maintaining your current housing? The Home Share Program connects Home Providers with Home Seekers in exchange for an agreed upon level of support in the form of combinations of financial contribution, assistance with household tasks, transportation, or companionship.

If you need help with Medicare, our Statewide Health Insurance Benefit Advisors Program (or SHIBA), offered in partnership with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, is here to help  you navigate the complexities of senior health care. Speak with a trained volunteer or attend a workshop to learn how to get more out of your health insurance plan, for help navigating your policy, and to better understand how the system works.

The Pet Assistance Fund is available for low-income seniors that are not able to afford care of their furry companions. The Pet Assistance Fund is made possible by a generous community partner and is here to help with emergency needs, ongoing care and other expenses for your pet.

Our Transportation Program offers seniors  rides to medical appointments and other essential errands, such as grocery shopping, visits to the pharmacy or other professional appointments.
