Speaker Series - Learn About The WA State Archives with Jewell Dunn, State Archivist
THIS ACTIVITY HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO COVID 19
I got introduced early into genealogy at the age of 15 by my Aunt Jean, who lived to be 104. She had worked on researching our Irish side of the family and turned the torch over to me and told me I was to work on the German side of the family. My aunt started out by taking me to do in-person interviews with people who had been born before the 1900s. Fast forward to 1985, my employer at the time moved me to Utah, which is where my love for genealogy grew as it was known as the mecca for genealogical research. Since then, I have attended more than 20 conferences and institutes to increase my knowledge of the different aspects of genealogical research. This is also what led me to my current position with the Washington State Archives.
