BREAKING NEWS
Olympia will have a new business shortly:
"The Estate Store", sponsored by Senior Services for South Sound, located at 510
Columbia Street (where "510 Interiors" used to be located.) This new
venture will allow families to donate the estates of their loved ones to
help seniors in need by providing a strong revenue base to Senior Services
for South Sound for years to come, so we can continue to support the
seniors in our community through our programs, activities and meals.
Our
Grand opening will be Saturday, February 4. To start, our hours of
operation will be Wednesday through Saturday 10 am-5 pm and Sundays 12-5
pm. If you have items you would like to donate, or have some time to
volunteer, please call
Deborah Mason Montelaro at
586-6181, ext. 120.
Services and opportunities available include:
SERVICES TO AT-RISK SENIORS PROGRAM
(STARS) Provides adult day and respite care for frail seniors and their families.
CARE CONNECTION PROGRAM
Provides care consultation and assistance with finding in-home care.
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR ELDERS and THEIR FAMILIES
(SSEF), provides support to caregivers and help for seniors to remain independent
and safe in the community.

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM
Provides nutritious noon meals to the senior population in Mason and Thurston counties.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to deliver MOW (Meals-on-Wheels) to
homebound seniors. It requires just few hours per week and a smile to make a real difference
in the life of a senior. Gas mileage is reimbursed.
Also, our coffee bar needs volunteers for one 3 hour shift a week. This time of year some
of our volunteers head to a warmer climate.
Please contact Ann Munro @ 586-6181 Ext 108 or send her an email at
volevents@southsoundseniors.org
OR better yet, apply on-line using the link located under Uncle Sam to the left of this message.
We are open - Olympia Senior Center
M-F 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Open occasionally on Saturdays for Special Events
